DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Each 32 ounce bottle of Garden Shield™ will make 25 gallons of .1% solution, the perfect concentration for plant defense activation.

To make a .1% solution, mix .32 ounces in a gallon of water.

.32 ounces is roughly 2 teaspoons, or 1 capfull. 

One 32 Ounce bottle will make 25 gallons of .1% solution, enough to treat one acre of tobacco, hemp, or any other cash crop.

It will bring out a plant’s natural defenses in a way that is safe for the plant, humans and the environment.

If you get into a situation where the rain, heat and humidity could start spawning fungus, up the concentration to .25%.

If you are under full attack, go up to 1% and take care of business.

Boosting Plant Defense Mechanisms

Chitosan stimulates plants to produce resistance proteins that combat pathogens.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that chitosan oligosaccharide induces the production of chitinase, chitosanase, and β-1,3-glucanase in plants. Interestingly, these enzymes exhibit synergistic effects, amplifying their antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Garden Shield™ has a Degree of Deacetylation greater than 98% and a Molecular Weight of just 3000 Daltons. The addition of Citric Acid as an anti-microbial proton donator is how we are able to achieve such a high and lethal charge density with Garden Shield™.

Lignin Formation

Lignin, a major component of plant secondary cell walls, is inherently resistant to microbial degradation. Extensive research has confirmed that chitosan oligosaccharide in Garden Shield™ can trigger lignification around infected sites, forming a physical barrier that prevents or delays the growth and spread of pathogenic bacteria to surrounding healthy tissues, thereby enhancing the plant’s disease resistance.

Modulation of Phenolic Metabolism

Phenolic compounds, such as tannins and chlorogenic acid, are known to accumulate in large quantities at plant infection sites. These phenolic substances possess bactericidal properties and serve as precursors for lignin formation. Consequently, the increased production of phenolic compounds in plants not only directly inhibits pathogens but also promotes lignification, further bolstering the plant’s disease resistance.
